Austrian Chancellor Karl Negammer said the EU will tighten sanctions against Russia until the war stops, Report informs citing Yevropeyskaya Pravda that he said this at a joint presser with President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv.
According to him, Austria is a neutral country militarily, but cannot agree with the ongoing crimes.
"This means that Austria fully supports the EU sanctions and Austria supports Ukraine where Ukraine needs it most," Negammer said.
"We will tighten sanctions within the EU until the war stops. Now another package of sanctions has been adopted, and it will not be the last one," he stressed.
At the same time, the chancellor acknowledged that the current sanctions are not enough because Ukrainians continue to die.
Negammer also said that Austria is making efforts to create humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of people from Mariupol and to ensure that these corridors are reliable.
