A rubber boat carrying migrants capsized off Türkiye’s Aegean coast, resulting in the deaths of at least four people, Report informs via Turkish media.
The incident occurred near the shores of Karaburun district. The Coast Guard confirmed that two migrants were rescued and four bodies were recovered.
Search efforts for other missing individuals are ongoing, involving helicopters, drones, five boats, and a larger vessel.
The total number of migrants aboard and their nationalities remain unknown.
Many migrants attempt the short but perilous journey from Türkiye’s coast to nearby Greek islands such as Samos, Rhodes, and Lesbos, which serve as entry points to the European Union.
