Astana, Moscow to discuss growing number of arrivals from Russia

Kazakhstan will hold talks with Russia to resolve the problem of an increase in the number of Russians entering the country, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at a meeting with the public of the Turkestan region, Report informs citing Kazinform.

"In recent days, many people from Russia have been coming to our country. Most of them are obliged to leave because of the current hopeless situation. We must take care of them and ensure their safety. This is a political and humanitarian issue. I instructed the government to take the necessary measures," he said.

According to him, visitors from abroad will be assisted, but they will not receive any preferences. "All work must be carried out in accordance with the law and our obligations. We will negotiate with the Russian side and solve this problem in the interests of our country," Tokayev stressed.
