Around 7,000 law enforcement officers injured in riots in Iran

About 7,000 members of the law enforcement and security forces have been injured during the riots in Iran, said Zohreh Elahian, a member of the Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Report informs referring to Mehr.

“The security forces were not allowed to use weapons against the rioters, and because of this, about 7,000 security and law enforcement officers were injured in recent unrest,” Elahian noted.

Mass riots and protests have been taking place in Iran since mid-September over the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini. The inhabitants of the country blamed the authorities for the death of Mahsa.

Iranian authorities accuse Western countries of supporting the protesters. Law enforcement agencies are carrying out mass arrests of people recruited by the intelligence services of Western countries, Israel and Saudi Arabia.
