Armenians protesting outside Yerevan City Hall

Residents of the Haghtanak microdistrict, who are protesting near the Yerevan City Hall, blocked Argishti Street and demanded a meeting with Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan.

Report informs, citing Sputnik-Armenia, that participants of the action are dissatisfied with the process of privatization of land plots, which they received in the 1990s. Due to the protracted process, they are unable to renovate their houses and cultivate the land. Periodically, the city authorities promise to resolve the issue. People have voiced the problem many times, but it is not solved.

"We demand an urgent meeting with the mayor and want to present our situation to him. It's impossible to live like this any longer. The roof is leaking in my house, but I cannot repair it," one of the protesters said.

The protesters came to the city hall with posters "We want to live in Armenia", "Armenia is our homeland" and "There is no future in emigration."
