Armenian president, speaker of Turkish parliament discuss normalization of relations

Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan held brief talks with the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament Numan Kurtulmus in Ashgabat, Report informs via Armenpress.

"There was a very short conversation... Again, it was the same discussion - about peaceful life, opening borders, and establishing diplomatic relations," said Khachaturyan.

In Khachaturyan's opinion, everyone understands that Armenian-Turkish relations are entering a new stage, and the parties do not miss the opportunity for meetings and discussions on settlement issues.

"This indicates that the normalization of relations may become a reality in the foreseeable future. This applies to both the opening of borders and the establishment of diplomatic relations," Khachaturyan noted.
