Armenian police start detaining participants in unusual action in Yerevan

Special forces of the Armenian police detained around ten representatives of the youth organization of the Dashnaktsutun party, which is part of the 'Armenia' election bloc of the former president Robert Kocharyan. Report informs, citing TASS, that the young activists staged a protest against acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Activists brought strawberries, candies, and underwear, throwing them at the building.

The objects were selected by no accident: in his speeches about the army reforms, Pashinyan repeatedly said that parents were obliged to send underwear to their children who served in the army during previous authorities. Strawberry as a seasonal berry was included in the soldiers' diet in early summer. As for sweets, during his election campaign, the acting PM said that earlier, the soldiers were insulted in every way, with candies thrown in front of them, and they had to 'dig the ground' to get the sweets. That phrase caused a great resonance, and Pashinyan was accused of humiliating service members.
