Armenian PM: Russian Railways to operate railroad to Azerbaijan

Russian Railways will be the new operator of the railroad to Azerbaijan, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a government session.

Report informs, citing Armenian media, that the Armenian PM said Yerevan and Baku are close to unblocking railway communications in the region.

Pashinyan said earlier that at the meeting in Brussels in December 2021, an agreement was reached with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the construction of the railroad Yeraskh-Julfa-Ordubad-Meghri-Horadiz to connect Azerbaijan with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
