During a government meeting, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan disclosed that a significant amount of weapons had gone missing following the 44-day war.
"After the 44-day war, we have a large quantity of missing weapons, and we have discussed this topic several times. This issue was also discussed in the Security Council," Pashinyan stated.
The prime minister has instructed the Minister of Internal Affairs to revise the methodology for searching for illegal weapons and ammunition. "The methods we have been using do not correspond to the new challenges. With the application of new methods, we already have certain, albeit small, results. Using this method, we can detect illegal weapons and ammunition," he emphasized.
Pashinyan also drew attention to the increasing number of legal weapons in the country. He stressed the need to understand the extent to which the acquisition of weapons is acceptable from the perspective of forming a tolerant society and the direction in which to move forward on this issue.
