Armenian PM accuses opposition of attempting to storm parliament

In a fiery speech delivered at the Armenian Parliament, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian accused the opposition of attempting to attack the legislative body during the recent clashes that erupted outside the building. He defended the actions of the police, stating that they acted appropriately to protect the institution and the statehood of Armenia.

Report informs via TASS that, according to Pashinian, protesters tried to forcefully break through the police barricade with the intention of storming the parliament. "In all such cases, the police will act in the same manner," he declared. "The police were defending the legislative institution of Armenia, the police were defending the statehood of Armenia."

The clashes, which took place on Wednesday evening, resulted in over 100 people being injured as tensions boiled over between law enforcement and demonstrators.
