Dozens nabbed in Yerevan as opposition protests continue

Thirty-five protesters from four processions that started in Yerevan have been delivered to police stations, Report informs, citing Sputnik-Armenia.

Earlier, the opposition started marching from four administrative districts of Yerevan - Nor-Nork, Malatia-Sebastia, Ajapnyak, and Erebuni. Groups led by opposition deputies and extra-parliamentary forces are heading towards France Square, permanently blocking the streets and public transport. Clashes broke out between law enforcement officers and rally participants on some streets.

The Armenian opposition has started the procession from four administrative districts of Yerevan - Nor Nork, Malatia-Sebastia, Ajapnyak, and Erebuni.

Report informs citing Sputnik-Armenia that Deputy Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Ishkhan Saghatelyan and his supporters began rallying from the Nor Nork region - along Gaya Avenue.

A group headed by the son of the second President of Armenia, Levon Kocharyan, took off from the Malatia-Sebatia quarter - from the monument to the commander Andranik Ozanyan. Deputies Agnes Khamoyan and Aram Vardevanyan have joined the procession.

The third group moved from the Ajapnyak district - from the monument to Gevorg Chaush. It is headed by the ex-head of the National Security Council of Armenia, deputy Artur Vanetsyan.

Representatives of the Republican Party of Armenia are rallying from the building of the Yerevan railway station (Erebuni district).

Earlier, the leaders of the Resistance movement said that their goal on May 10 was to paralyze the city.

Protests organized by opposition forces resumed in the Armenian capital on May 2. The participants demand the resignation of the authorities, in particular Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
