Armenia wants to sign agreement with Azerbaijan on railway construction

Armenia hopes to sign a legal document with Azerbaijan in the near future, which will ensure the construction of the Arazdayan-Julfa-Ordubad-Mehri-Horadiz railway, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a government meeting, Report informs.

"We are currently working on the construction of Armenian section of the Arazdayan-Julfa-Ordubad-Mehri-Horadiz railway. Technical work has already begun. We hope that the agreements reached will be reflected in the document soon and the process will develop fully," Pashinyan noted.

According to him, the government will announce a tender for companies to begin construction of the Sisian-Kajaran section of the North-South road:

"Of course, the North-South road can connect Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Turkey if the political agreement is reached," he said.
