Armenia will host the annual Eagle Partner military exercises with the United States on its territory from June 17 to 25.
Report informs, citing Armenia's Defense Ministry, that the drills will be held as part of preparations for participation in international peacekeeping missions.
The exercises will involve servicemen from the Armenian Armed Forces' peacekeeping brigade, with 250 participants, the US Army Europe and Africa and the Kansas National Guard, with 58 participants, as well as troops from France, with 24 participants, and Greece, with 11 participants.
Peacekeeping tasks will be practiced and carried out during the drills. The purpose of the exercises is to improve the interoperability of units participating in international peacekeeping missions, exchange best practices in command, control and tactical communications, and strengthen the combat readiness of the Armenian Armed Forces' peacekeeping unit.
