The ruling Civil Contract party is looking for a candidate for the post of human rights defender in Armenia, Report informs referring to Zhoghovurd newspaper.
According to the publication, after the resignation of Kristine Grigoryan from the post of Ombudsman, the authorities cannot find a replacement for her. They need a candidate who would have a positive reputation in society and at the same time would meet the specified criteria.
Although in recent days various names have been speculated as possible successors to Grigoryan, however, the party still doesn’t have a specific candidate.
Earlier, the media reported that the post of ombudsman could be taken by the deputy head of the Ministry of Social Labor Tatevik Stepanyan, but this topic was not developed.
On January 23, Grigoryan filed for resignation from her position.
