Armenia's prime minister: Opening of сommunications - a step towards long-term peace in South Caucasus

The unblocking of transport communications is a crucial step towards achieving long-term peace in the South Caucasus, according to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. According to Report, speaking at the Yerevan Dialogue forum, Pashinyan introduced Armenia's "Crossroads of Peace" initiative.

"This initiative is vital as it provides us with railway communication with Iran - a strategically important country for us, and in the future - with Türkiye and Russia. Azerbaijan also gets the opportunity for railway communication with Türkiye and Iran," Pashinyan stated.

Furthermore, the Armenian Prime Minister stressed the importance of opening automobile and railway communications between Azerbaijan's western regions and Nakhchivan through Armenian territory.

Though Nakhchivan already has access to the outside world via Iran and Türkiye, Pashinyan affirmed Armenia's readiness to provide this additional route.
