Armenia’s National Assembly member Gevorg Papoyan to be appointed economy minister

A deputy from the ruling Civil Contract party of Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan, has decided to terminate his powers in connection with his appointment to the post of economy minister, Report informs referring to Armenian media.

“Several candidates were discussed, but they chose me,” he noted.

In the near future, the Speaker of Parliament will make a statement about the termination of Papoyan’s powers.

According to the information, Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission on Economics Babken Tunyan was another candidate for the post of the economy minister. He himself told reporters today that he preferred to remain in parliament.
