Armenia's deputy minister of social security and labor may become country's new ombudsman

Deputy Minister of Social Security and Labor of Armenia Tatevik Stepanyan may be nominated for the post of Ombudsman.

Report informs via Hraparak that current Ombudsman Kristine Grigoryan, who submitted her resignation, is outside Armenia. Her exact whereabouts are not disclosed.

"If various courses and social activities are excluded from Stepanyan's biography, only the position of the manager of the Modamont clothing store, which she held from 2004 to 2020, will remain. It was in 2020 that she was appointed deputy minister, which caused surprise in the ministry," the newspaper reads.

Grigoryan submitted her resignation to the National Assembly on January 23. This decision is related to the transition to another job. According to media reports, she will serve in the Supreme Judicial Council.
