Armenia needs new constitution, referendum could take place in 2027, says justice minister

Armenia is planning to hold a constitutional referendum in 2027, according to the country's Minister of Justice, Grigor Minasyan.

Report informs citing Armenian media that, in a statement to journalists, Minasyan emphasized the need for a completely new Constitution rather than mere amendments to the existing one.

"We have discussed this matter and reached a consensus," Minasyan stated.

This announcement comes on the heels of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's earlier remarks stressing the necessity of adopting a new Constitution for Armenia.
