Armenia faction refuses parliamentary mandate

The Armenia faction in the Armenian parliament has refused the deputy mandate, Report informs, citing Jokhovurd.

As reported, not only the parliamentarians of the Armenia faction but also the potential candidates for those seats in the parliament are refusing the mandate.

According to the information, a signature campaign is currently underway in this regard.

So far, the representative of the Dashnaksutyun faction unanimously supported the decision. The representative of this faction, Gegam Manukyan, did not comment on the information.

The Armenian parliament consists of 107 parliamentarians. Seventy-one of them are representatives of the ruling Civil Contract faction. The opposing Armenia faction, which is headed by Seyran Ohanyan, the former minister of defense of Armenia, is represented in the parliament by 29 parliamentarians. Another opposition faction is I Have Honor, headed by Artur Vanesyan, former director of the former national security service of Armenia. Both factions are supported by the former presidents of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan.
