Armenia declares no financial obligations to CSTO

Armenia's Foreign Ministry has officially announced that the country will not be signing the 2024 budget for the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

According to Report, which cites TASS, the announcement came in response to an inquiry from the local portal Factor.am.

The ministry stated, "The Republic of Armenia has officially notified the CSTO secretariat that it will abstain from signing the CSTO Collective Security Council decision 'On the CSTO Budget 2024' and from participating in the financing of the organization's activities as stipulated by the decision. Consequently, the Republic of Armenia has not undertaken any obligations regarding the financing provided for in the said decision."

Russian Foreign Ministry stated earlier that Moscow assumes Yerevan still has financial obligations in accordance with the CSTO Charter.
