Armenia appoints new ambassador to Russia

Former member of Armenia's National Assembly from the ruling Civil Contract faction, Gurgen Arsenyan, has been appointed as the country's ambassador to Russia.

According to Report, which cites Armenian media outlets, the announcement comes following a decree signed by Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan.

The presidential decree, based on the recommendation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, states, "In accordance with Article 132, Part 1, Clause 2 of the Constitution, appoint Gurgen Arsenyan as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Russian Federation."
