Armed Forces of Belarus and Russia start joint flight exercises

Joint tactical flight exercises of units of the Armed Forces of Belarus and Russia began on Monday in Belarus, the Belarusian Defense Ministry said, Report informs via TASS.

Today, a joint tactical flight exercise of the aviation units of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, which are part of the aviation component of the regional grouping of troops (forces), has started. From the Russian side, the military formation of the aerospace forces takes part in the event," the ministry said.

The Belarusian Defense Ministry recalled that all airfields and training grounds of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus are involved in the drills.

“During the exercise, it is planned to work out a wide range of issues, including conducting aerial reconnaissance, joint patrolling of the airspace along the state border, air support for groupings of troops, landing tactical airborne troops, delivery of cargo and evacuation of the wounded,” the ministry said.

The main goal of the exercises is "to increase interoperability in the joint performance of combat training tasks."
