Arestovych: About 6,000 Russian servicemen killed in battles for Mariupol

About 6,000 Russian servicemen were killed in the street battles for Mariupol in eastern Ukraine, said Oleksiy Arestovych, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Report informs.

Arestovych noted that there were the best units of the Russian army - special forces, tank regiments, marines, etc. - among the neutralized ones.

According to him, the next three days will bring the results of the siege of Lysychansk and Severodonetsk by Russia.

Earlier, it was reported that in Mariupol alone, Azov fighters killed about 2,500 Russian servicemen and wounded about 5,000 others.

The defenders of Mariupol, who had been under siege for several months, later surrendered. France and Germany have demanded that Russian President Vladimir Putin release 2,500 Ukrainian defenders.
