Protesters fail to meet Armenian interior minister

Armenian Interior Minister Vahe Ghazaryan did not come out to the participants of the Tavush for the sake of Motherland movement led by Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, ministry's spokesperson Narek Sargsyan said, Report informs via Sputnik Armenia.

"We cannot arrange a meeting with you now. We can talk and if it is convenient, we will inform you," he said.

The head of the internal security department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Vaginak Martirosyan, came out to the crowd. He said that there are more than a dozen official investigations and criminal proceedings regarding police actions, and asked not to make police officers a target. He assured that all those who committed disciplinary violations would be punished.

The leader of Armenian opposition movement Tavush for the Mortherland, archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan said at a meeting with his supporters and he will march towards the Interior Ministry and demand a meeting with the minister over the incident involving the Catholicos in Sardarapat.

Report informs citing Armenian media that the opposition activists are rallying along one of the central streets of the capital city towards the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
