Ankara tightens security around parliament building

Security measures have been ramped up around the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (Parliament) building in Ankara in anticipation of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's speech, according to Report, which cites Turkish media.

Journalists covering the event are required to pass through two stages of security checks before being allowed entry. Additionally, filming in the vicinity of the building has been prohibited.

President Abbas arrived in Ankara on Wednesday evening and is scheduled to address the members of the Turkish Parliament today.
