Advisor to Armenian Defense Minister arrested

Arshak Ordukhanyan, advisor to the Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan and member of the ruling Civil Contract party, has been arrested on charges of creating a criminal organization and embezzlement, according to the country’s Investigation Committee, Report informs via Armenian media outlets.

"A criminal case has been opened against one person under Article 318, Part 1 (creation or leadership of a criminal organization) and Article 257, Part 3, Clauses 1 and 3 (embezzlement of particularly large amounts using computer technology) of the Armenian Criminal Code," the committee stated.

The acts provided for in these articles are punishable by imprisonment for up to 15 and 8 years, respectively.
