Abdollahian: 3+3 regional format will strengthen Türkiye-Iran cooperation

The 3+3 regional format will strengthen Türkiye-Iran cooperation, Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said in an article he wrote for the Turkish Milliyet newspaper, Report informs.

He noted that Türkiye and Iran, as two powerful countries of Western Asia and the Persian Gulf, can protect these regions from the influence of subversive elements:

"Joint efforts such as the Astana format created to ensure stability in Syria, the proposed 3+3 format for collaboration in the Caucasus, trilateral and multilateral cooperation in the Persian Gulf are just a few examples that contribute to a partnership between the two countries in the region."

The minister wrote that there is a good cooperation environment between the two countries in the direction of solving regional crises: "Necessary steps are taken and will be taken for further development of cooperation."

Abdollahian also pointed out that both countries face the same threats: "Türkiye and Iran will continue the fight against terrorism to ensure regional security."
