Russian FSB detained 87 underground gunsmiths in 20 regions of the country, seized 274 weapons, and liquidated 26 illegal weapons workshops, Bureau's Center for Public Relations said on Friday, Report informs, citing TASS.
"Operative-investigative measures and investigative actions were carried out at the locations of illegal gunsmiths. 274 firearms of domestic and foreign production were seized from illegal circulation," the FSB said. The activities of 26 clandestine workshops for the modernization of weapons and the manufacture of ammunition have been stopped.
Among the seized are four machine guns, five submachine guns, 127 pistols and revolvers, 119 rifles and carbines, over 17 kg of explosives, 11 electric detonators, 176 hand grenades. In addition, more than 27,000 cartridges of various calibers, main parts, and components of firearms, as well as 169 artillery ammunition of multiple calibers, were confiscated from gunsmiths.
