5 people killed in shelling in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region

Five people have been killed and 17 injured over the past day as a result of enemy shelling in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Synyehubov said, Report informs citing UNIAN.

He noted that there are no grounds for an organized evacuation of Kharkiv residents.

“We again had shelling from multiple launch rocket systems and from artillery - again Saltivka, Severna Saltivka... as well as the historical center of Kharkiv... We already had five dead and 17 people injured over the past day,” he added.

He specified that the direction from Izyum to Sloviansk was important for the enemy. “Because they have already lost the battle for Kharkiv, and this is the only direction that remains for the transfer of troops to the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. However, our armed forces also hold their positions there, constantly fighting fierce battles. The enemy is losing a large amount of manpower there every day, aircraft and other equipment,” he stressed.

He added that the Ukrainian military managed to liberate several settlements in the region, but now it is important to keep them, because the fighting there is still ongoing.
