An earthquake of magnitude 5.3 has hit the Aegean Sea on Sunday, the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency of Turkey (AFAD) said, Report informs via Anadolu Agency.
The shocks were recorded at 14.48 local time (UTC +3). The source of the earthquake was at a depth of 18.76 km.
The epicenter of the shocks was 16.5 km from Greece and 125.84 km from the Gökçeada region of the Turkish province of Canakkale.
Serhat Dogan, head of the Gökçeada district administration, said the tremors were felt weakly.
According to primary data, there is no damage, and an inspection is being carried out in the buildings of official institutions.
