49 protesters against military operations in Ukraine arrested in St. Petersburg

District courts of St. Petersburg brought to administrative responsibility 99 participants of an uncoordinated rally against military operations in Ukraine, Report informs referring to RIA Novosti.

Half of them have been arrested.

"In total, the district courts received 140 materials, decisions were made on 99," the press service of the city’s courts said.

Decisions on administrative arrest were made in relation to 49 people, fines were imposed on 45 citizens, and community service was assigned to one. For the remaining four cases, the proceedings were terminated or the cases were returned to the police.

Uncoordinated rally against the special operation to demilitarize Ukraine took place in several cities of Russia, in St. Petersburg they took place for several days.

Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated in this regard that the Russians may have their own point of view on the operation in Ukraine, but they have no right to organize illegal rallies.
