Russian rescuers found a saucepan with $150,000 while clearing rubble in a residential building in Türkiye. The money was handed over to the local police, the Telegram channel of the Russian Emergencies Ministry said, Report informs via TASS.
"Russian rescuers found a large amount of money in the course of search and rescue operations while clearing the rubble in a residential building in Türkiye," the statement said. Rescuers said that when opening another layer of rubble, they found a saucepan filled with hundred-dollar bills.
Over 31,000 people were killed and more than 80,000 were injured in twin earthquakes that hit southeastern Turkiye on February 6. Over 6,400 buildings were destroyed. Rescue work continues in the disaster zones and debris is cleared.
