15 children die after taking antiviral drug in Uzbekistan

A copy of the letter from director of the Samarkand Regional Children's Multidisciplinary Medical Center to head of the Regional Health Department Davronbek Zhumaniyozov appeared on social media, which refers to the complications and death of patients who took the Indian antiviral Doc-1 Max medicines and syrup, Gazeta.uz reported.

Azizov wrote in a letter dated December 15 that respiratory viral infections have been spreading among the region residents, especially children, in recent months. He stated that primary health care doctors prescribe the drug Doc-1 Max a lot, and sometimes the parents of children themselves use it. The drug's active ingredients include paracetamol, guaifenesin, and phenylephrine hydrochloride.
