Zelenskyy: Ukraine, Germany finalizing drone agreement

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he discussed what he described as Russia's attack on an airfield in Leipzig with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Report informs, citing Zelenskyy's post on X.

Zelenskyy called the incident another Russian escalation and said Merz had briefed him on Germany's response. He added that Ukraine was ready to assist Germany with its expertise and experience or in other areas where support might be needed.

According to Zelenskyy, Ukrainian and German teams are finalizing the text of a "Drone Deal," which he said would provide both countries with additional defense capabilities. The two leaders discussed the substance of the agreement and the timing of its signing and agreed to meet in person.

Zelenskyy also thanked Germany for its support and said Ukraine would receive new German air defense packages this month.
