Zelensky suggests 'reviving' UN

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the UN should be revived.

Report informs that speaking at the UN General Assembly session, he noted that it is necessary to start with renewing the organization's charter since the document is not a recommendation that can be implemented at one's own will.

He said the UN should be reanimated so that there is no discrimination.

The Ukrainian leader suggested organizing the meetings next to the hotspots that there are many in the world.

He said the countries should meet where these global problems could be heard and seen, adding that there are thousands of hotspots in the world, and Ukraine is ready to participate in the UN sessions next to any of them.

Zelensky compared UN's activities to 'a retired superhero who forgot what he was capable of' and called for change and renewal.

The 76th session of the UN General Assembly officially opened in New York on September 14. The high-level week involving leaders, heads of government, and ministries of the countries started on September 21.

The situation in Afghanistan where Taliban militants seized power remains the number one topic on the agenda, which also includes issues of social equality, pandemic, and vaccination, climate change, etc.
