The White House has officially ended 83% of the programs run by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on the social media platform X, according to Report.
After a six-week review, the White House has officially ended 83% of USAID programs, he noted in his post, adding that under 5,200 contracts, which are now annulled, tens of billions of dollars were spent not in the interest of the United States.
Rubio added that the remaining USAID programs (about 1,000) are now being managed by the US Department of State.
