US to discuss military aid to Ukraine with 20 countries

Representatives from 20 countries will take part in US-sponsored consultations on military assistance to Ukraine on April 26, Report informs citing foreign media that Pentagon Spokesman John Kirby said.

The meeting will take place at Ramstein Air Base in Germany and will be hosted by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.

A Pentagon spokesman at the briefing said that an invitation had been sent out to 40 countries, of which 20 had confirmed their participation. Kirby specified that the topic of conversation will be, in particular, the modernization of the military sphere of Ukraine. According to him, security guarantees will not be discussed, reports AFP.

According to the German tabloid Bild, the discussion will focus on three topics: the current situation on the battlefields in Ukraine; arms supplies needed by Ukraine to repel Russian military attacks; post-war order in the event of the withdrawal of Russian troops from the country.
