US to allocate $1B to Israel to strengthen Iron Dome air defense system

The administration of US President Joe Biden intends to allocate about $1 billion to Israel for the completion of the Iron Dome air defense system, Report informs referring to TASS.

A senior Washington administration official told reporters at a special briefing on Biden’s upcoming trip to the Middle East that during the trip to Israel, Biden intends to visit the sites of these air defense systems, as well as discuss possible cooperation in the field of innovation in the defense industry between the two countries.

In addition, during his Middle East tour, the head of the US administration will visit the West Bank of the Jordan River, where he will meet with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. During the trip, Biden will also hold talks on cooperation with Israeli and Indian Prime Ministers Naftali Bennett and Narendra Modi as part of the virtual I2-U2 summit (which brings together India, Israel, the UAE and the US).
