US, Sweden to ink military co-op agreement

Swedish and US Defense Ministers Paul Johnson and Lloyd Austin will hold talks in Washington on December 5, according to the Swedish government office, Report informs referring to TASS.

During the meeting, the parties will also sign a defense cooperation agreement.

In early November, Swedish media reported that Sweden and the US had completed negotiations on a military cooperation agreement that gives the United States access to some Swedish military bases, the name of which will be revealed after the signing of the DCA.

The US will have facilities for storing military equipment such as combat vehicles, ammunition and weapons systems. US military personnel will be subject to American law when on Swedish soil.
