US State Department blames Russia for blackouts in Ukraine

Russia is to blame for the blackout in Ukraine. The day before, a complete or partial blackout occurred in five regions of Ukraine, US State Department Spokesperson Ned Price said, Report informs.

“We condemn Russia’s air strikes on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure that have left thousands of civilians without power and clean water. We stand with Ukraine against Russia’s aggression,” Ned Price tweeted.

On September 11, there was a total blackout in the Kharkiv Oblast and partially in the Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy and Donetsk oblasts. According to the office of the President of Ukraine, the reason was a missile attack on critical infrastructure facilities near Kharkiv. The Zaporizhzhia NPP was also completely stopped.
