The number of positive coronavirus cases in US has increased by more than 56 thousand per day, while more than 370 people died, Report says, citing RIA Novosti.
According to Johns Hopkins University, over the past 24 hours, the United States has recorded 56,750 new cases of infection and 372 deaths among COVID-19 patients.
So far, 3,830,926 cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in the US, with more than 140,000 deaths.
A Reuters analysis found that deaths from Covid-19 in the United States rose for a second week in a row to more than 5,200 people in the week ending 19 July - up 5% from the previous seven days. The country reported over 460,000 new coronavirus cases last week, up nearly 15% from the prior week, according to the data from The COVID Tracking Project, a volunteer-run effort to track the outbreak.
Nineteen states have reported increases in deaths for at least two straight weeks, including Arizona, Florida, and Texas. Testing for Covid-19 rose by 9% in the United States last week and set a new record high on Friday, with over 850,000 tests performed.
