US may use military force against Iran

The US may use military force against Iran, although Washington prefers diplomatic avenues in reaching an agreement on Tehran’s nuclear program, US Special Representative for Iran Robert Malley said in an interview with La Repubblica newspaper, Report informs referring to TASS.

This is not our way, this is not what US President Joe Biden wants. But if all other options fail, then the military one is the last option. The president made it clear: US will not allow Iran to have nuclear weapons, Malley said.

Earlier it was reported that Iran had started enriching uranium up to 60% at the Iranian nuclear facility in Fordow.

Malley also stressed that preference is always given to diplomacy, but Iran does not show that it really wants to return to the agreement.

Two more critical factors are being added that the US is focusing on, he said. These are Russian military assistance and the suppression of peaceful protests, Malley said, pointing out that the role of the US is to support the rights and fundamental freedoms of Iranians, helping them through the application of sanctions.

At the same time, he noted that technological sanctions are being eased so that the Iranians can be connected with the outside world.

He also claims that the American side has information that Iran is considering the transfer of missiles to the Russian Federation, as well as the launch of a line for the production of Iranian drones in Russia.

It would take their support for the Russian Federation to an even more dangerous level, and the US is ready to respond to prevent this by imposing sanctions on anyone involved in the transfer of weapons, Malley said.
