US may interrupt flow of security assistance to Ukraine

The US Senate should pass a $39.8 billion Ukraine aid package by May 19 to avoid any potential interruption in the flow of security assistance to Ukrainian forces, Pentagon Spokesman John Kirby said, Report informs.

He says there is about $100 million still available on drawdown authority.

"If we don't get those authorities soon, it's possible there could be a bubble, a period of time in which there's nothing moving. And we want to make sure we avoid that," he said.
