US imposes sanctions against Russia's senior officials

The US Treasury Department has published a list of Russians sanctioned by the United States, Report informs, citing RIA Novosti.

The list includes Alexander Bortnikov, head of Russia's Federal Security Service, Alexander Kalashnikov, director of the Federal Penitentiary Service, Igor Krasnov, prosecutor general, Pavel Popov, deputy defense minister, Alexei Krivoruchko, another deputy defense minister, Sergey Kiriyenko, first deputy head of the Kremlin administration, and Andrei Yarin, chief of the Kremlin's Department of Internal Policy.

The US has imposed sanctions on Russia over the case of opposition leader Alexei Navalny. Following the sanctions, the United States will provide humanitarian assistance to Russia only if necessary. The new decision prohibits other forms of assistance.
