US expands sanctions against Belarus

The United States has expanded sanctions against Belarus, blacklisting 16 individuals, five agencies, and organizations, said US Treasury Department.

Report informs, citing RIA Novosti, that the United States has imposed sanctions on the Belarusian KGB, the Belarusian Interior Ministry's Central Department for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption, and the Interior Ministry's Internal Troops.

Natallia Eismant, press secretary President Alexander Lukashenko, and Natalya Kochanova, Speaker of the Council of the Republic of Belarus, Sergei Zubkov, commander of the Alpha special group of the Belarusian KGB, Mikhail Grib, Chief of the Minsk City Police Department, Sergei Kalinovsky, Belarus's deputy justice minister, and Belarus's Prosecutor General Andrei Shved have been subjected to new US sanctions.
