US wants access to American detained in Moscow

Baku. 2 January. REPORT.AZ / American side demands the immediate return of American Paul Whelan, who was detained in Moscow on espionage charges. Report informs citing the Reuters the due statement came by US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo.

He stressed that the US also wants to know the reason for the arrest of its citizen.

Earlier, the Federal Security Service of Russia reported that on December 28, 2018, US citizen Paul Whelan was detained during a spy action.
