US Attorney General may resign after Trump's controversial tweets

US Attorney General William Barr is considering resignation from his position due to the remarks of US President Donald Trump, who shared his thoughts on Twitter, The Washington Post reports, citing sources close to the Attorney General.

Based on their information, Barr told people close to Trump that he eyes resignation after president's controversial tweets about the Department of Justice.

"He has his limits," the Post quoted one person familiar with Barr's thinking as saying.

Barr may be sharing his position with people close to Trump in hopes the president gets the message and stops tweeting about the Justice Department's criminal investigations.

Back on Tuesday, Trump agreed that his publications on Twitter made Barr's job harder. But then again, the US president insisted that he still has "total confidence" in Barr.
