US, EU impose more sanctions on Iran

The US and the EU have imposed sanctions on individuals and entities in Iran involved in the production of lethal drones and their transfer to Russia.

In addition to Russians, militants in the Middle East have also received drones, according to the US State Department website, Report informs referring to RBC-Ukraine.

The US imposes sanctions on four Iranian companies and one individual associated with the development, production, and supply of drones provided by Iran to Russia, as well as to militarized proxy groups and partners aiming to prolong the conflict and destabilize the region, said State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller.

These restrictions target four organizations linked to the Rayan Roshd Afzar Company (previously sanctioned by the US) and the head of the Iran Aviation Industries Organization (a subsidiary of Iran's Ministry of Defense and Logistics).

Matthew Miller noted that the sanctions were coordinated and implemented simultaneously with the EU's sanctions.

"We applaud the first use of the EU’s new sanctions authority targeting Iranian destabilizing behavior and support for terrorism in the Middle East," he said.
