The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) shelters have so far accommodated almost 600,000 displaced people from the Gaza Strip, which is four times their capacity, Report informs.
“Nearly 600,000 internally displaced people are sheltering in 150 UNRWA facilities. Our shelters are four times over their capacities - many people are sleeping in the streets as current facilities are overwhelmed. At least 40 UNRWA installations have been impacted,” UNRWA wrote on X.
UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini noted that there is no safe place in Gaza today.
