UN Secretary General: Meetings on Cyprus will continue

"We will meet again for official discussions on the Cyprus issue," said UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, commenting on the outcome of the 5 + 1 informal meeting on Cyprus in Geneva, Report informs, citing TRT Haber.

According to him, it is impossible to hold an official meeting due to the lack of a common position in the discussions: "We will meet again for official talks. We will do our best to move these talks forward and achieve a positive result. Our position is firm."

On April 27, Geneva, Switzerland, hosted a two-day informal meeting with representatives of the United Kingdom, Turkey, Greece, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, and the Greek part of Cyprus. The meeting focused on the future and status of the two republics in Cyprus.
